First-time in Rarinjinda Resort

It may look like a botique hotel from the outside but once you enter its doors, it’s as if you are brought inside a different world. Rarinjinda Wellness Spa Resort is your perfect hideaway tucked in the heart of Chiang Mai.

The most interesting part is that Rarinjinda House, or Ruen RarinJinda, is a 140-year old teak-wood house that provides a sanctuary to traditional Thai furniture and antiques, preserving the tales that go with them.

A stone’s throw away from the legendary Ping River, Rarinjinda brings the serenity of the water inside its compound through its waterways. The lotus flowers by the bird baths and the waterways added a tranquil touch to this beautiful urban oasis. My room was right next to the Deluxe Pool where I could take a dip and relax on its cool waters.

The Rarinjinda staff were also extremely friendly as they looked into our every need through their warm hospitality. It is also there where I experienced a relaxing spa treatment.

These things were used during my spa treatment.

A gong sounded above me and something vibrated over my stomach while I was laying on a warm sand bed. This is the Elements of Life treatment of Rarinjinda Wellness Spa. It is a unique treatment, considered as the only one of its kind.

It started with a sensuous herbal foot soak and a guava foot polisher. Then, I was made to lie on a warm sand bed where my aching muscles were massaged through its East meets West Body Massage. Along the way, the masseur placed some metal bowls at my foot area, on my tummy, and from overhead, which she sounded for several minutes. I later learned that it is the Tibetan Sound Therapy. She ended the 45-minute spa treatment with a cold rose body freshener.

Apart from Elements of Life, other spa treatment available at Rarindjinda Spa are the aromatherapy oil massage, ayurvedic hideaway, hot stone massage, royal Siamese retreat, four hand massage, and other wellness treatments. Rarinjinda Spa Chiang Mai also boasts of its vichy shower, hydrotub therapy, hydropool therapy, infrared sauna, and herbal steam.

To top Rarinjinda’s amenities and spa services, dinner and breakfast were served across the street at Deck 1 Restaurant which gives a strategic view of the Ping River. Deck 1 is known as the Exotic Sxene and Cuisine because of its modern Asian fusion foods.

  1. This sounds like a lot of fun! I had a friend who found a Korean spa in Dallas (yes, less exotic, but closer to home!) and she said they did a heavenly job. Her skin ended up ultra smooth and exfoliated.
