Thai Airways and its MICE offers for business events

With three hours on air aboard Thai Airways, I wanted to grab some sleep. But the screen in front of me was too tempting to let it pass. I searched for movies but I couldn’t seem to decide which one to watch. I browsed the music, hoping it can get me to fall asleep. I quickly changed my mind and settled for the games. And I got hooked.

Flying Thai Airways definitely has its perks. The food came and drinks seemed to flow every now and then. I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m beaming from ear to ear with just the mere memory of my lunch. I was fortunate to be invited by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to be part of its familiarization trip to experience their new campaign, “Thailand CONNECT: Hip & Heritage Business Events”. I was even more fortunate that their partner for this particular trip is Thai Airways International (THAI).

A member of Star Alliance, THAI takes its service further through the Star Alliance Conventions Plus/Meetings Plus offer that provides assistance on-site inspections, flight arrangements, package tours, advanced check-in, publicity of the events, and other benefits to organizers of business events.

According to Charles Pamonmontri, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited Director for the Thailand Sales Services Department, “Thai Airways is committed to leveraging the success of the campaign by offering support with promotions, road shows and complementary or specially-priced air tickets on routes that the airline flies.”

Talking to an intimate group of eight print media and bloggers from Asia, Pamonmontri shared updates on THAI including the three classes it offers – First class, Business class, and Economy class. To widen its reach to various markets and with the advent of the emergence of boutique airlines, THAI also launched Thai Smile, as well as Nok Air, to cater to short-haul travelers and low-cost flyers.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, commonly known as Thai Airways, is the national flag carrier airline of Thailand. Established in 1960, Thai Airways has grown to become one of the leading airlines in the Asia-Pacific region, renowned for its exceptional service and commitment to passenger comfort.

The airline operates from its main hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and serves an extensive network of domestic and international destinations. Thai Airways has established itself as a key player in the global aviation industry, connecting Thailand with major cities around the world and facilitating tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

Over the years, Thai Airways has earned a reputation for its distinctive Thai hospitality, showcasing the warmth and friendliness of the Thai people. The airline’s cabin crew, known as “The Royal Orchid Service,” provides passengers with an attentive and personalized experience, ensuring comfort and satisfaction throughout their journey.

Thai Airways boasts a modern and diverse fleet of aircraft, comprising wide-body jets such as the Airbus A380, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777. These state-of-the-art aircraft offer passengers an array of amenities, including spacious seating, in-flight entertainment systems, and a range of dining options inspired by Thai cuisine.

As a member of the Star Alliance, Thai Airways has strong partnerships with leading airlines worldwide, enhancing connectivity and providing passengers with seamless travel experiences. Through code-share agreements and cooperative arrangements, Thai Airways expands its reach and offers passengers a comprehensive network of destinations to choose from.

Thai Airways has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards. These honors reflect the airline’s commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and its ongoing efforts to elevate the travel experience for passengers.

As an integral part of Thailand’s aviation landscape, Thai Airways remains dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and memorable journeys for passengers while contributing to the growth and development of the Thai tourism industry.

Based on my own experience, different companies have different needs and budget. Small companies who offer incentives to their employees usually prefer low-cost or budget airlines while big organizations can afford to send delegates through legacy carriers. With THAI’s support to the MICE sector, Thailand will be able to provide a 360-degree service to business travelers and business events organizers.

I had a pleasant flight to Bangkok and even on my way back to Manila. Pulling my violet blanket to my neck, I stretched, intently watching the movie I chose. Later on, I dozed off to sleep and woke up as the captain announced that we were approaching our destination. All I can say is “kop kun ka”.
