The Nutcracker at the Manila Hotel

Giant Nutcracker soldiers filing at the sides, wreaths hanging on the wall, candy canes set on table centerpieces – all these now fill the grandoise lobby of the Manila Hotel, bringing the Christmas spirit to every guest that enters its doors. At the end of the august hall is a Christmas tree with the Sugar Plum Fairy sitting on top of it. Then, there’s the Gingerbread Clock House with lots of Christmas goodies that are delightful to the eyes and, I’m sure, to one’s taste buds.

The Manila Hotel, celebrating its 100 years, brings to life the Christmas classic tale of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece – the Nutcracker.

The Grand Dame of the Philippines, as the Manila Hotel is often called, offers various Christmas treats for families and guests. There are special room packages for the holidays that include free breakfast, relaxing massage, lunch buffet, Nutcracker gifts for kids, and complimentary drop-off shuttle service. Moreover, guests will have a fun time with a special vingcard and a surprise for those who can find the image of the Nutcracker in their room.

Take a sip of the Nutcracker-inspired cocktails and get a Nutcracker stuffed toy. You will also get an opportunity to help when you purchase the limited edition Nutcracker jar, wherein proceeds will be donated to the House of Refuge. Christmas hampers, such as the Land of Sweets Gift collection, are something that you can gift to loved ones. And during the weekends of the holiday season, prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and Ballet Manila will hold special shows in the Manila Hotel lobby.
