First-time in Bacolod Forest Park Resort

We were planning our high school batch summer getaway and we were looking for a fun place just within the vicinity of Bacolod City, the hub of the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. Forest Park Resort came up in the discussion. I couldn’t comment as I haven’t been there before, although my mother has mentioned it during the Christmas holidays. As I was excited to see old friends, I was equally thrilled to see firsthand Forest Park Resort.

The resort is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm from Mondays to Fridays, and 8:00am to 7:00pm during Saturdays and Sundays. We arrived at past 9:00am and a few people were already entering the resort’s Water Garden, the entrance of which looked like a cave. We looked for our reserved cottage, a small hut near the pool area. It was a great spot because we had an open space where we can have our lunch al fresco.

There’s a river pool, too.

The pool area was huge, with slides in the center for kids to play on. The pool is shallow, ideal for children, and getting into the pool was like a walk on a beach, literally and figuratively, that is.

Our little hut at P1,598 (app. USD 34.75) with drinking water and P900 (app. USD 19.50) consumable food and drinks at the canteen. This is good for 20 people.

There were areas for grilling. A canteen could be found at one side where we got our drinks. TAKE NOTE: Drinks are not allowed in the resort. Please follow the resort’s guidelines:

* Drinks are NOT ALLOWED such as drinking water, alcoholic drinks and soda.
* Cooking is NOT ALLOWED. (Only grilling is allowed and there are allotted grilling areas in the resort.)
* Fire arms and deadly weapons are NOT ALLOWED.
* Pets are NOT ALLOWED.
* Rice cooker, cauldron, or pots/food warmers are NOT ALLOWED.
* Only swimming attire is allowed. If unavailable, we have suits for sale and rent. (Cotton attire or any attire with metals are NOT ALLOWED)

When you rent a cottage, you get from free foodstuff. We used our consumable to avail of the soft drinks, while we brought our own food. Below are the rates of Forest Park Resort:

There are various parts in the resort where one can hold wedding receptions or birthday parties. There is also a lane which displays various kinds of animals, mostly bird species.

The Forest Park Resort is a good place for families to have fun. Kids will surely enjoy the resort’s amenities. Adults will also have a grand time just relaxing, chatting, and sharing a meal or two.

  1. If only we were nearer, we would have booked a visit one weekend right away. I bet many barkada and families are planning for a vacation especially now that it’s nearly rainy season. This resort is a great option.

  2. That looks like a great time! I never heard of a place like that I’m going to have to check if there is one around my area.

  3. I love any place that is family friendly and the fact that they have a playground for the kids is a plus. I need somewhere for my kids to have fun while I relax.

  4. Bacolod Forest Park is something I’d love to visit because of the natural scenes and other attractions. They also have reasonable rates for their facilities.

  5. That lotus fountain reminds of some place in India. Cannot recall which one though. Refreshing post!

  6. What a beautiful resort. I would play around in those fountains like a little kid!! We have fountains like that near where I live.

  7. I’ve been following all your posts on Bacolod. So I think many other places were much more natural and without much human interference than this one. But I guess for a friends get together this should suit.

  8. Bacolod Forest Park looks a perfect place to close to nature and enjoy that feel of freshness.

  9. This could be a nice place to unwind with nature after visiting other places in Bacolod. A good park is really very important for any city.

It sounds and looks like the best place to go to during the summer, especially with the whole family. I normally don’t like resorts that do not allow food, but to me, this place is worth it since the swimming and the play areas are really worth experiencing.

  11. This seems like such a relaxing place to spend with family or friends! Love it 🙂

  12. Wah, there’s quite a lot of rules and restrictions from in the forest park resort! But it looked like a pretty cool place to bring kids to! Can’t wait to check this out in future!
