Our post Typhoon Yolanda Eastern Visayas volunteer trip

It was a memorable post-Yolanda Eastern Visayas trip and and unforgettable journey through Eastern Visayas after the devastating Typhoon Yolanda. Our group, comprised of 17 dedicated volunteers from Hands On Manila, embarked on this post-Yolanda relief trip with a mission to make a difference in the lives of the affected communities.

First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors and supporters who made this journey possible. Without their contributions, we would not have been able to provide assistance and bring hope to those in need. Their unwavering support fueled our determination and enabled us to make a tangible impact.

We also express our sincere appreciation to our esteemed partners, Mind Your Rights (M.Y. Rights), and the officials of Barangays 67 in Leyte and Amandayehan in Basey. Their collaboration and cooperation were instrumental in coordinating our relief efforts and ensuring that our initiatives reached the right places and the right people.

Throughout our journey, we were fortunate to receive warm hospitality from various establishments and individuals. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Welcome Home Pensione, Potluck Canteen, Village Chefs, Na Ning mobile bar, and Calle Z Cafe for their gracious reception and support. Their kindness and assistance made our stay more comfortable and allowed us to focus on our mission.

We were also delighted to meet and collaborate with fellow volunteers, NGO workers, and journalists along the way. Their shared passion for rebuilding Tacloban and Basey was truly inspiring. Their dedication and commitment served as a reminder that we were part of a larger movement, working together to uplift communities affected by natural disasters. The connections we forged with these remarkable individuals will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Looking to the future, we eagerly anticipate organizing another volunteer vacation, particularly in areas still grappling with the aftermath of recent disasters. Our desire is to continue offering our support and assistance to the resilient communities of Leyte, Samar, and northern Cebu. We sincerely hope that our efforts will inspire more people to lend a helping hand, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion among individuals and organizations alike.

As we conclude this memorable post-Yolanda Eastern Visayas trip, we offer our prayers and well-wishes for the ongoing recovery and rebuilding process. May these communities find the strength, resources, and support needed to overcome the challenges they face. Together, let us strive to create a brighter and more resilient future for all.
