At the outskirts of Bacolod City, Philippines, towards the upland portion at the eastern side of the city, lies the Bantug Lake Ranch – a beautiful hideaway that is suitable for weekend picnics or family getaways.
The land, which used to be a sugarcane plantation and orchard poultry, is now a lush landscape with a natural-looking lake dug to allow freshwater from a nearby creek flow through it and return to the creek. Set with Mt. Makawili in bordering Talisay City at the backdrop, Bantug Lake Ranch is owned by Abelardo Bantug, Jr. as an inheritance from his father.
As it is found across the Bacolod Polo Club, also owned by the Bantugs, the lake ranch offers horseback riding and kalesa ride that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. Boating and fishing can be done at the lake area, where ducks also thrive. Animals, like free-roaming peacocks, abound in the area and guests can feed them.
There are many areas for picnics, camping and special events, like wedding receptions or team building activities. Children and their adult companions can have a wonderful day swimming in the pool area.
Informal gatherings and picnics are regular activities in the lake ranch.
An eco-farm tour is also in the works. Vegetables and other plants are grown organically in the Bantug Lake Ranch. Food products from these organic produce are available for sale at the ranch.
At an entrance fee of Php 50 (almost USD 1.00) for adults and Php 40 for children, you can get inside and roam the property. However, there are additional fees for swimming (Php 120 or USD 2.55), horseback riding, and boating (Php 50 per head), separately. There is also a restaurant inside the Bantug Lake Ranch where families can dine. Picnic tables are also available for rent.

I have been to Bacolod in 2014 but our hosts did not bring us here. Glad to see there are more places to visit if ever we get a chance to visit that city again in the future.
Maybe when you come back, you can visit this place. 🙂
Wow this looks like a awesome place for outdoor activities for the whole family. Its has been a long time since I ride a horse.
It was fun to ride around, although it was a short one.
Wow! All that for a very affordable price! I’d love to go here and just relax for an entire day!
Truly affordable. And the entrance fee is good for the entire day already. 🙂
Wow! That lake looks so lush and beautiful. I have never heard of this place before but it does sound like it makes the perfect setting for a lovely family getaway.
Yes, that’s true. Even just by sitting around, it’s a great place to unwind.
Wish I visited here when I was in Bacolod!! Really should explore the Philippines more 😀

A great bonding activity with family and friends. 🙂

You should! Try to visit in April for the Panaad Festival or October for the Masskara Festival.
I always love just looking at the lake because it’s such a picture of Serenity. They were able to develop this property well with the facilities.
It’s good that this is located in the outskirts because the air is fresh and everything so serene.
Never been to Bacolod but this is something nice to add to my list of possible places to check out in the City.
Yes, please do!
The lake looks stunning. A perfect place for a destination wedding!
When we went there, there was a wedding going on at the lakeside. Such a romantic ambiance.

It’s a lovely place indeed. Since it’s near my place, I plan to bring my other relatives there.
Wonder when will I ever see this beautiful place. Philippines is full of wonderful and truly amazing places.
I agree. Even in my own province alone, I haven’t yet explored all the beautiful places here.
What absolutely paradise, you are making me excited for our travel. Love that there are so many different things to do at the ranch.
I hope to go back to this ranch. It’s truly relaxing here.
that first photo is so sweet! <3 this is a very lovely place. The Philippines has always been surprising me with its beauty.
It was a sight to behold. The balloons and the stuffed toy really caught my attention.
the place looks like heaven on earth.I wish to visit the Batung Lake some day.
It’s so serene here, it likes you’d feel you’re in paradise.
Hi, nice post. I want to visit this place too. May I know how did you reach this place? Is it by public transport or by taxi?
We brought a private car to the place. If you plan to go there by commute, you can take a jeep to Alangilan from Burgos Market and it will pass there. Another option is to take a jeep to Sta. Fe or Granada and get off at the last stop, then take a tricycle to Bantug Lake Ranch.
