Celebrating 35 Years of Megaworld: A Legacy of Vision and Triumph

Megaworld Corporation recently held DECAD35, a holiday gathering that celebrated more than just the season. Led by Vice President for Public Relations and Media Affairs Harold Geronimo, it was a grand thanksgiving to the media and a jubilant commemoration of Megaworld’s 35 transformative years in the Philippine real estate industry. The event seamlessly blended gratitude, celebration, and inspiration, a testament to the company’s enduring commitment to building communities and enriching lives.

Bacolod’s Growing Skyline thanks to Megaworld

As the night unfolded, guests were reminded of Megaworld’s extraordinary achievements, particularly in Bacolod City. The jewel in its crown is The Upper East, a 34-hectare township that has become a beacon of innovation and progress. Within this township, it recently broke ground for Kensington Sky Garden, set to be the tallest residential condominium in the Visayas. The two-tower, 26-story development will offer 643 smart home units and is envisioned to redefine the city’s skyline, standing proudly across Landers Superstore Bacolod. More than a structure, it symbolizes the developer’s forward-thinking ethos and dedication to sustainable urban living.

Megaworld and its Legacy of ‘LIVE-WORK-PLAY’

Its ‘LIVE-WORK-PLAY’ townships have transformed cities across the Philippines, and Bacolod is no exception. This integrated lifestyle approach has captured the hearts of Bacolodnons, fostering a dynamic environment where aspirations thrive.

A Year of Unparalleled Growth for Megaworld

The celebration also highlighted real estate giant’s stellar performance in 2024. With a 16% increase in net income to PHP 15.69 billion for the first nine months, the property giant demonstrated resilience and strategic brilliance. Its diversified portfolio—spanning residential, leasing, and hotel segments—contributed to a 23% surge in consolidated revenues, underscoring the enduring demand for quality developments.

Among the notable achievements is the remarkable growth of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts, which saw a 38% revenue increase. This underscores the company’s ability to adapt to market trends and capitalize on the resurgence of global tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) activities.

Visionary Milestones

From pioneering township developments to launching its 35th township, The Upper Central in Cagayan de Oro, Megaworld’s journey over three and a half decades is a testament to its unwavering vision. Each project—whether the beachside Lialto Beach and Golf Estates or the wellness-focused San Benito Private Estate—embodies a commitment to uplifting lives and shaping communities.
