Not everyone knows where it is. It’s not a public place but some events do happen here. For those holding office at the Enterprise building along Makati’s Ayala Avenue, the Sky Garden must be something they’ve heard of. It occupies the rooftop of the lower tower of Enterprise.
I came to know it because of our foundation’s partnership with the company running the building. We recently held a series of photo shoots at the Sky Garden courtesy of the Kuok Group.
We had to head up the elevator to the topmost floor. Yet, the climb was just beginning. From the topmost floor, a secret doorway leads to another elevator that is used privately for those heading to the rooftop. We exit to a small receiving area with a conference table and toilets for visitors where people can wait. Then, we took the steps towards the Sky Garden.
The Sky Garden has a gazebo at the center that offers shade from the scorching sun. A small koi pond greets visitors as they come up the roof deck. But what’s amazing are the vegetables and fruit-bearing plants found here.
The rooftop gives one a view of the entire Makati, stretching towards neighboring cities. The view is not just lovely, but also breathtaking. How I loved to put up a hammock underneath the vine of vegetables and enjoy the wind streaming through my face.
When I worked at an office at Tower 1 I also discovered this sweet place… sometimes I would sneak in secretly, because the view at the top is just so breathtaking, like you mentioned, which I agree to 101%!
I daresay I’d go up there again given they open it for an occasion (sometimes they do, just like back in Valentine’s day in 2011).
