Since this is the longest celebration of MassKara Festival, the Bacolod City Public Plaza is now teeming with food stalls since it started in October 1 and they are there to stay until October 23. It remind me of years past, during my student days when I had experienced the night revelry at the plaza.
This year, there is something different apart from the usual chicken inasal food fare you will find at the city square. It’s Chino’s Deli, which is a local meat processing business in Cagayan de Oro City which specializes in (home-made) Meat Deli products. They boast of their clean and quality meat used with no artificial flavorings, no coloring & no extenders.
The business was started by couple Jonathan Mempin and Mary Anne “Mian” Ledesma Mempin. Mian was hailed in Bacolod City, so it was no surprise that she went all the way from Mindanao to Negros in order to bring the Chino’s Deli experience to revelers of the MassKara Festival.
Their stall at the Bacolod Public Plaza is along Gonzaga St., across the entrance of Plaza Mart. They open from 6:00pm until 2:00am. Mian had us try their various offerings: Flat Iron Burger, Chori Burger, Ultimate Sandwich, Tokyo Crib, and Italian Sausage Sandwich. They are reasonably priced at Php130 to Php160 only.
If you want to have a piece of the MassKara nightlife, head over to the plaza and grab a burger or sandwich at Chino’s Deli. You can also contact Mian at 0917-7719291 for pre-orders. You can also order their frozen products, such as the beef tapa, smoked chorizo, chili chorizo, longganisa, and various sausages.
