Dear Café: an oasis in Mansilingan, Bacolod City

There’s something about gardens that I find so fascinating or relaxing. Whether they are manicured gardens or one where shrubs and plants grow wildly or a mix of both, gardens give me a rejuvenating feeling. I’m glad that I visited my cousin’s Dear Café, which boasts of a beautiful garden at the back of their property.

Right beside the entrance of East Homes 4 Subdivision in Mansilingan, Bacolod City, in the Visayan region of the Philippines, is a small commercial area where various shops are found. At the leftmost part of the building is Dear Café. My aunt, my father’s younger sister, recently celebrated her birthday and it was held at her daughter’s Dear Café.

As soon as we arrived at the café, we were ushered towards a small alley at the side of the building towards their kubo garden at the back. We were welcomed with a lush garden filled with greens with vines that served as a canopy within the area. A koi pond was found in one corner and a wishing well near the back of the building. There are small huts, which you can use for a minimum order amounting to P500, and a huge hut for big groups.

It’s nice to have a warm coffee here surrounded by so much greens. They serve all-day breakfast meals that come with egg and rice, main dishes, short orders, pizza with chips, sandwiches with chips, burger with chips, snacks, barkada treats, and hot and cold drinks.

You can also book the kubo garden as a venue for your private parties, wedding receptions and the like. For inquiries, please contact directly Dear Café through their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dearcafemansilingan or at email address [email protected].
