Helping Lek Save Her Elephants With One Click

Today, I found a wall post on my Facebook page from a friend who is now working in Thailand. I’ve known him as an elephant lover and I wasn’t surprised to find him post a link in change.org asking people to help a Thai woman, named Lek, save her elephants.

The petition at the site’s page is found here wherein the petitioner wrote about Lek who cares for sick and disabled elephants in Chiang Mai through her Elephant Nature Park (ENP).

I’ve visited an elephant camp in this city over a year ago and I was amazed as to how the elephants could perform various tricks to wow their crowd. While they paint lovely colors of flowers, I could see some of the trainer pulling their ears. As I viewed the you tube link in the petition page, I felt aghast and guilty for being in that camp.

I do hope that we are able to care for our animals, our plants, our environment. I was compelled to write about this and, hopefully, by making some few clicks I become a virtual volunteer who can make a difference in saving the elephants.
