Megaworld, known for transforming landscapes, takes its enthusiasm for the “City of Smiles” to new heights. In fact, their 50×50-foot ‘Megaworld Smiles’ banner, adorning the façade of Two Regis, is a visual masterpiece. What’s more, it spans across five floors of Megaworld’s residential condo development. With that, it provides an ideal backdrop for Masskara tourists capturing their precious moments at The Upper East.

“Megaworld Smiles” Theme Lights Up Bacolod

‘Megaworld Smiles’ is Megaworld’s theme for this year’s celebration of the Masskara Festival. As such, it embodies the vivacity and the thrill that Megaworld has brought to Bacolod. Their participation in this vibrant celebration mirrors the heart and soul of Bacolod’s culture and lifestyle.

Additionally, Megaworld partnered with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, ensuring that some of the festival’s most prominent events are hosted at The Upper East. From October 13 to 22, the township will host a variety of exciting events. The Masskanamit Food Fest, a gathering of the city’s finest food establishments, promises to tantalize taste buds with local delights like cansi, chicken inasal, and callos.

Masskara Festival at the Upper East

The lineup of activities is nothing short of spectacular, including the Masska Eats + Beats & Arts Festival, the MasskaAuto Car Meet, and Masska Sine. Furthermore, locals and visitors alike can look forward to numerous competitions and performances. On October 21, The Upper East will dazzle with the Electric Masskara Parade, bringing joy to festival-goers. This event will showcase creatively adorned floats that will illuminate the Upper East Avenue.

One of the events in this year’s Masskara Festival I witnessed is “Into the K-Fever”. Subsequently, it is a heritage and cultural showcase featuring the Namyangju Branch of Baebeng-i-gut Conservation Society, a premier traditional performance group from Korea. This enchanting cultural event adds an international touch to Bacolod’s festivities, celebrating the city’s rich heritage and global connections.

Beyond “Megaworld Smiles”

Beyond Masskara, The Upper East continues to evolve as Bacolod’s modern central business district, with Megaworld playing a pivotal role in its development. As a matter of fact, the company recently announced its fifth residential condominium. The Kensington Sky Garden promises to redefine Bacolod’s skyline. Also, the construction of the 12-storey Kingsford Hotel Bacolod is set to make it the city’s largest and most iconic hotel, offering upgraded facilities and a range of room categories.

Looking ahead to next year, Megaworld is preparing to construct the Upper East Mall. It is a striking architectural landmark that will blend neo-classical and art deco elements, reminiscent of New York City’s Upper East Side. Moreover, the mall will be connected to Landers Bacolod via a walkalator, adding a touch of modern luxury to Bacolod’s landscape.

The Upper East, Megaworld’s gem in Bacolod, is not just the backdrop to Masskara; it’s the canvas on which Bacolod’s future is being painted. With each new development, the city takes a step closer to fulfilling its vision of becoming a true ‘super city.’ And with Megaworld’s unwavering commitment and infectious “Megaworld Smiles,” Bacolod City’s future is set to be brighter than ever before.
