New Dining Place in Bacolod: Tent Five

If Bacolod City is known for something, apart from Masskara Festival and the smiling people, it is its good food that can be enjoyed in many great dining places that dot the metropolis.

[UPDATE 2023: The restaurant has closed and is no longer in operation in this location.]

A new foodie attraction is the Marketplace, located right beside the Bacolod New Government Center (NGC). Its surroundings is a booming area for restaurants and businesses. One of the new restaurants in the Marketplace is the Tent Five Dining and Sports Lounge. They recently had their soft opening, attended by friends, guests, media and bloggers.

We sampled a few of their food – the Sizzling Bulalo and the Midgets, which are five small burgers of Cheese, Meatball, Chicken Fillet, Bacon and Cheese, and Tuna. Those five-peat burgers are really winners.

These tiny burgers are cute and also yummy.

The actual serving of Sizzling Bulalo (bone marrow) is in a sizzling plate instead of the ordinary plate shown in the photo.

But what really caught our attention was the organized way of ordering and delivering food. Each table has a button which, when pressed, automatically alerts the waiters through their watch. Awesome, right?

A mechanism like this, with push buttons, is found in every table in Tent Five for easy ordering of food.

Your preference is automatically transmitted to the watches donned by the waiters.

A private air-conditioned area is also available in Tent Five for meetings and various occasions.

This goes to show that the people behind Tent Five want to cater to the needs of their diners in a fast and efficient manner. This is a great technology which we hope will be employed in other restaurants as well.
