Costa Pacifica greeted us with a light drizzle when we finally arrived in Baler, Aurora. After a tiring seven-hour drive from Manila, the cool weather almost made us wonder if rain would ruin the rest of our day.
Normally, the journey to Baler takes about five hours. However, traffic and road conditions stretched our trip, making the welcome drink waiting for us at the resort even more inviting.

A Warm Welcome Despite the Rain
Costa Pacifica offered us a cup of hot, citrus-flavored tea as soon as we arrived. The resort exuded warmth that helped chase away the chill and gave us a much-needed boost after the long drive.
Then, we stepped into the colorful lobby.
Art filled the space, adding life to the otherwise gloomy afternoon. More importantly, the lobby opened toward a breathtaking view of the swimming pool and the sea.
For a moment, we forgot about the rain.
We were in Baler for a business trip. Yet, looking at the inviting resort and the ocean beyond it, work suddenly did not seem so bad after all.

When the Sun Finally Appeared at Costa Pacifica
Thankfully, the weather changed the following morning.
At around 9:00 a.m., the sun finally broke through the clouds. Almost immediately, the resort came alive with sunlight, giving us the perfect opportunity to explore Costa Pacifica and walk toward the beach.
The friendly staff also made our arrival easier. They assisted us with our check-in and helped us settle into our rooms, where a welcome treat and complimentary bottled water were waiting.
After the long journey, the room felt like a welcome reward.

A Room Made for Relaxation
Pastel colors gave the room a cool and calming atmosphere. Flower paintings on the walls added a cheerful touch without making the space feel too busy.
The bed, meanwhile, was wonderfully comfortable. I particularly appreciated the soft pillows and cozy bedding, which made it tempting to forget about our business itinerary and simply stay in.
The spacious closet also came with a safe for our valuables. It was well-lit, making it easy to organize our things even after arriving late.
Near the desk, a flat-screen television doubled as part of the workspace. I also loved the green side tables, especially the trays placed on top.
One thoughtful feature caught my attention.
Although the room was air-conditioned, it also had a ceiling fan. This gave us the option of opening the terrace doors and allowing the fresh outdoor air to flow inside.

A Neat and Comfortable Bathroom
The bathroom continued the room’s clean and relaxing atmosphere.
It was neat and well-maintained, with a rain shower that made washing up after a long day especially refreshing. The resort also provided the basic toiletries guests would need during their stay.
Everything felt simple, practical, and comfortable.

Dining in Costa Pacifica By the Pool and Sea
Our exploration eventually led us to the Beach House, Costa Pacifica’s restaurant.
The restaurant opens directly toward the swimming pool, making it easy for guests to enjoy an al fresco meal while taking in the tropical surroundings. The open setting creates a relaxed atmosphere, especially when the weather cooperates.
Nearby, colorful fish-shaped chairs gathered around a bonfire setup added a playful touch to the resort.
From there, a small elevated boulevard led toward a beautiful view of the beach.
And what a beach it was.

Facing the Waves of Sabang Beach
Sabang Beach is one of Baler’s favorite surfing spots, known for the gigantic waves that attract surfers from different places.
Watching the waves crash along the shore made it easy to understand why surfing has become such an important part of Baler’s identity.
For guests who want to experience the waves themselves, Costa Pacifica offers surfing lessons. Beginners can learn the basics and test their balance while experienced surfers can simply enjoy the thrill of riding the waves.
The resort also provides expert guides for guests who want to explore the waterfalls and other attractions in and around Baler.
Thus, staying at Costa Pacifica does not have to mean staying within the resort. It can also be a convenient starting point for discovering Aurora.

Costa Pacifica has Room Options for Different Travelers
Costa Pacifica offers several room categories, giving guests different options depending on their needs and budget.
During our stay, rates started at around Php 3,000++ for the Casa Standard, or approximately USD 71.50. At the higher end, the Pacifica One-Bedroom Suite cost around Php 9,000++, or approximately USD 214.
In between, guests can choose from the Casita Deluxe, Casa Loft, Junior Suite, Junior Premiere, Pacifica Suite, and Pacifica Premiere.
The resort also has facilities suited for business travelers, including a conference room and meeting room. A gym is available as well for guests who want to keep moving during their stay.

Costa Pacifica Hospitality: A Business Trip That Felt Like a Vacation
Our trip to Costa Pacifica may have started as a business trip, but the resort made it feel surprisingly close to a vacation.
From the warm citrus tea that greeted us in the rain to the comfortable rooms, friendly service, inviting pool, and beautiful view of Sabang Beach, Costa Pacifica gave us plenty of reasons to enjoy our stay.
Most of all, it reminded me that work does not always have to feel like work.
Sometimes, all it takes is a comfortable room, a beautiful coastline, and the sound of Baler’s waves in the distance.
I hope to return to Costa Pacifica someday—not for business this time, but for a proper vacation with friends.
