Bangkok: A Gastronomic Wonderland and Food Lover’s Oasis

If you’re a lover of Thai cuisine like me, then you’re in for a treat in Bangkok! The vibrant city offers a multitude of dining options that will take your taste buds on a delicious adventure. Join me as we explore some of the best places to eat in Bangkok and discover hidden gems along the way.

Street food of Bangkok

Let’s start with the heart and soul of Bangkok’s food scene – the street food. Head over to the Chatuchak weekend market, where the colorful stalls offer a variety of mouthwatering treats. I couldn’t resist trying the little octopuses, Japanese crepes, and raw mangoes. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you might even stumble upon a stall selling crocodile meat at Tha Tian Market.

For a lively atmosphere and a taste of local street food, Khao San Road is a must-visit. As you stroll along the road, you’ll come across vendors serving up scorpions, a unique sight to behold. But if you prefer a more relaxed setting, Rambuttri Road offers cozy spots like Coffee 56, where you can savor a delicious plate of pad Thai while people-watching.

Thai culinary gems

Believe it or not, even Bangkok’s malls have hidden culinary gems. Make your way to MBK and discover The Beef Master, where I indulged in their mouthwatering Meat Balls, Sliced Beef Stir Fried Oyster Sauce, and Cheese Sticks. Who says you can’t find great food in shopping centers?

If you prefer the convenience of dining near your accommodations, fear not. Bangkok is teeming with fantastic eateries. Near my hotel, I stumbled upon Rosdee Restaurant, a treasure trove of Thai and Chinese cuisine, particularly their duck dishes. The flavors were simply divine. And just a few steps away, Bangchak Square provided a range of food stalls and restaurants, offering everything from flavorful noodle dishes at Mamarin Noodles to tempting desserts and street food.

Now, let’s venture off the beaten path and explore other hidden culinary gems. Palm 18 Bar and Restaurant and Lean On Tree on Soi 18 Sukhumvit are two places that captured my heart. The cozy ambiance combined with their sumptuous dishes made them favorites among both locals and visitors.

When it comes to dining as a tourist attraction, Bangkok has got you covered. I had the pleasure of visiting Jay Fai, a renowned Michelin-star street-side eatery. Although it was closed during my visit, I discovered Thipsamai nearby, an equally impressive Michelin Bib Gourmand awardee. Their authentic pad Thai dishes were simply unforgettable, and the affordable prices were the cherry on top.
