First-time in Tune Hotels, KL

When I thought of Kuala Lumpur, what instantly entered my mind was the Petronas Tower, Malaysia’s poster image. Because of its prestige, I envisioned KL as an urbanized metropolis. But its distance from its international airport totally took me by surprise. Good thing we found Tune Hotels located right in the airport complex.

It was a good thing that two of my companions had been to this sprawling city before, giving me hints as this was my first trip to Malaysia. With a flight early at dawn out of KL to Siem Reap, they knew that staying in KL proper would jeopardize our schedule and might cause us delay.

Another good thing was having a hotel right within the airport compound where we could stay. It was a stone’s throw away from KLCCT and all we did was just walk from the airport right after touch down and towards it to catch our flight for the next leg of our adventure.

With bags in tow, we dragged our feet across the parking lot to a white building with a red octopus banner on its facade. The building was like a inverted U shape with a canopy in the middle where clients could sit outside and enjoy the open air.

Tune Hotels was perfectly situated near the airport as it could cater to the needs of travelers who went in and out of Malaysia’s capital. It was easy to book at the hotel online and we found no hassle in checking in. We learned that it was also newly opened so we were able to enjoy new amenities.

The rooms were neat and modern although they were cramped because they were little and lack space to move around. But we didn’t complain because we had a comfortable stay at the hotel and the rates were affordable. However, for every additional service, there was also a corresponding fee. The bed, pillows, blankets were clean and comfy. There was hot shower and well-maintained bathrooms.

There were also convenient stores, small boutique and gift shops, and coffee shops at the ground level. Since it was a short walk to the airport, food wasn’t a concern because of the many fast food chains nearby. Going to the main city wasn’t also a problem because there were many buses plying the route to central KL. However, we had to make sure we made the trip back to our hotel taking the last trip.

After two nights staying at Tune Hotels, we prepared for our trip to Siem Reap and caught the sun rising as our plane took off from the cloud that was enveloping KL. It was a good preparation for a long adventure ahead.

I’d like to try that myself. But I usually go for affordable hotels, to save on budget. I hope you will be able to continue to do that and share your findings with other travelers. I like your blog. 🙂

  2. So fun to check out new hotels in new cities 🙂
