Panaad sa Negros Festival 2018

If there’s one festival that you should look forward to when in Negros Occidental, that’s Panaad sa Negros Festival, the festival of all festivals in this province in Western Visayas. The whole Panaad Park and Stadium is alive, with all the pavilions of each town showcase the best from their city or municipality. Conceptualized in 1992, the festival grew from a three-day affair held near the Provincial Capitol to a huge celebration. On April 14-22, 2018, the Province of Negros Occidental marks the SILVER PANAAD SA NEGROS FESTIVAL or its 25th year.

Panaad sa Negros Festival has established its name as DOT-ATOP’s “Best Tourism Event-Provincial Festival Category” in the country when it was adjudged a ‘Hall of Fame’ awardee after bagging the national award from 2014 to 2016 in the Pearl

It is a delight to go from one pavilion to another, seeing their colorful displays. However, with the festival happening in time for the Philippine summer, it is also great to experience Panaad at night. (Read: Things To Catch at Panaad at Night)

What you can look forward to Panaad sa Negros Festival 2018 are activities that promote health, food, music, heritage and culture. Various competitions and concerts are also crowd-drawers. Among its many features are the Organik sa Negros Agri-Fair and Agri-Clinic, Eco-Garden Show, Negros First Food Alley, Bamboo Musical Performance, Panaad Hip-Hop Challenge 2018, and Lin-ay Sang Negros.

The town booths themselves are already attractions but it was the local food and non-food products, fresh fruits and vegetables, and tourism information that we were after for. The pavilions are also differently designed, some of them display antiques, livestock, or native architecture.

How to get to the Panaad Park and Stadium:

The Panaad Park and Stadium is located in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

From the airport or BREDCCO – take a Central Market jeepney that will pass near the Gaisano Mall in the downtown area.

From the downtown area – go to Gaisano Mall and take the Alijis jeepney. Tell the driver to drop you at the Panaad entrance.
