In a burst of color, music, and community spirit, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod illuminated the city with the third annual celebration of “A Joyous Luminescence.” This trilogy of events unfolded on November 23, transforming the hotel into a festive wonderland and captivating the hearts of guests, media, and esteemed personalities.
The celebration commenced with the unveiling of “Light and Life Through Glass,” a stained-glass art exhibit at the Art Cove by Bacolodnon artist Sharon Agapuyan. The exhibit served as a visual odyssey, with each piece reflecting a chapter in the artist’s exploration of life’s essence. Sharon beautifully articulated, “Light is truly a gift from our Creator, and, just like in life, we need people to support and guide us, helping us shine in our wonderful colors.”
Distinguished guests, including Ms. Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., and Hon. Em Ang, Bacolod City Councilor, joined Ms. Sharon Agapuyan in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the inauguration of this artistic journey.
The festivities continued at the Marapara pool deck, where attendees were treated to the Ceremonial Tree Lighting Ceremony. His Excellency, Abp. Charles John Brown D.D., Papal Nuncio to the Philippines, graced the event, adding a touch of grace and offering reflections that resonated with the spirit of the season.
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s General Manager, Sherwin Lucas, set the stage for the evening with an eloquent address, emphasizing the dedication and diligence invested daily in crafting unforgettable moments for guests.
“This year’s “Santa’s workshop” serves as a symbolic reflection of the dedication and diligence we invest daily in our own workshop of crafting unforgettable moments,” Sherwin said.
His Excellency Archbishop Charles John Brown further enriched the gathering with insightful reflections, drawing a profound connection to the symbolic journey of Jesus’ birth.
“For me, as the papal nuncio, it gives me a lot of happiness and joy to be with you this
evening, to be a part of this wonderful tree lighting ceremony. May this Christmas be a time to receive the love of God in us and recognize the love of God in others and try to receive them as our brothers and sisters.,” Archbishop Brown remarked.
Representing the office of the Mayor, Bacolod City Councilor Em Ang highlighted the importance of gratitude and thanksgiving during the holiday season.
The tree lighting ceremony unfolded with a captivating storytelling performance, featuring characters from “Santa’s Workshop.” The Yuri Crew, dressed as elves, brought the story to life with an interactive dance, complemented by a dynamic drum and bugle performance from the Domingo Lacson National High School students. Santa Claus himself made a grand entrance, leading guests to the tree-lighting podium.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a Thanksgiving reception at the hotel’s Arima restaurant. The CenterPhil Montessori International School – Children’s Chorus, guided by Prof. Alexander Magno Romero, provided angelic voices that set the tone for an opulent spread of holiday-themed delights crafted by Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s culinary team.
Ms. Peggy Angeles delivered a heartfelt toast, inspiring gratitude among the gathered guests and team members. The evening concluded with an eagerly anticipated raffle draw, where Santa Claus and his Christmas elves distributed charming Christmas keepsakes to ensure every guest left with warm memories of the holiday celebration.
