Bacolod City is a food haven to healthy eaters and vegetarians. The province, Negros Occidental, is pushing for organic farming and organic products and Bacolod City has several options for those who are conscious of the food they eat. When in Bacolod, you can definitely go healthy, especially when it comes to healthy eating. Fresh Start Organic and Natural Store is one of those restaurants offering organic dishes, and is now going mainstream as you get to see them in the malls.

Fresh Start has a store in Robinson’s Place Citywalk and it has recently opened in SM City Bacolod. I have visited their farm in Silay (READ: First-time in Fresh Start Organic Farm) and saw their way of using vermi culture to grow their vegetables naturally.

From their salads to their rice meals to their snacks to their smoothies to their desserts, Fresh Start proves that nutritious food sourced from natural products can be delicious, too. And who says it’s all just leaves and greens? Organic food can also include their free range chicken and eggs. I like their pasta dishes, which usually has fresh vegetables and herbs.

Their SM branch has a salad and juice bar where you have plenty of options to choose from. And apart from their superb dishes in their menu, there are also various organic and natural products on display. It includes Fresh Start products and other artisanal products from small and medium-size enterprises in support to local entrepreneurs.  You can find soaps, jams, chips and other items on the Fresh Start shelves.

The opening of the Fresh Start store in SM City Bacolod was attended by Negros Occidental Governor Joseph Maranon (3rd from left) and Chef Margarita Fores (4th from left).

Whether you want to fill your tummy for something healthy, or you are on the look out for personal and household commodities made of organic materials and ingredients, or you happen to visit Bacolod and wants to take home something organic and natural, Fresh Start is the place to be. For travelers, I say, make Fresh Start be part of your itinerary and make a fresh start to healthy eats.

  1. Great post, you know I eat vegetarian every week, about 2-3 times. I just uploaded a vegetarian post http://sofarsosabine.com/sofine-recipe/. I love to try new recipes in general. This food looks so healthy! I love that picture of the juice, I’m crazy about juices in general!
