The countdown has begun and in just a few days, the calendar will turn a new leaf, the world will celebrate the holidays (we celebrate both Christmas and New Year in the Philippines) and the world will welcome the year 2018. Allow me to highlight this occasion with a BLOG GIVEAWAY of my travel mementos for the past 2 years, representing the places I visited abroad during this span of time. This giveaway will run until 30 November, 2017 only. No purchase is required in this blog giveaway and no brand is being promoted here (except my blog, of course). Just login at the entry form below.
These are the countries I’ve been to, where I have collected a few souvenir items for my readers and social media followers.
New Zealand
It was a surprise for me to win a blog contest that brought me to the land of the kiwis. My trip to New Zealand gave me the opportunity to explore Auckland and nearby attractions in Matamata, Waitomo and Rotorua. It was a trip to the Middle Earth at the Hobbiton Movie Set (yep, it’s the Shire where Bilbo Baggins and the Hobbits live), as well as exciting natural attraction like the Glowworm caves and the geysers and lakes in Rotorua. Read about this adventure in my blog post Wonderful Trip to New Zealand.
Brunei
This Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures has truly given us unexpected surprises. Breathtaking mosques with golden domes, a village on water, and other spectacular buildings and sights, Bandar Seri Begawan was not what we have expected. It’s progressive yet it is surrounded by so much greens and plenty of space that you can really breathe fresh air in its capital. More about this trip in my article First-time in Brunei.
Kerala, India
Each year, the tourism agency of the state of Kerala in India invites bloggers to experience what is called as God’s own country. This land of coconuts is a place filled with rich cultural heritage. The hill stations and tea plantations are a sight to behold. Facing the Arabian Sea, it also has a beautiful view of the ocean. Get to know more about this state in my article First-time in Kerala: God’s own country.
Macau
It was my second time in this autonomous region but I decided to come back here to bring my sister, who was visiting Macau for the first-time. There were new buildings and attractions and Macau has a charm that seems to appeal to travelers, the same way it has attracted the Portuguese centuries before. The blend of the East and the West created a beautiful fusion that is Macau. More about it in my write-up Macau for first-time travelers.
Singapore
It was a brief stop in Singapore, spending only 3 days and 2 nights before we forwarded to our main destination: Indonesia. I’ve been to this rich nation-state several times and I never seem to get tired of exploring Singapore. My trip this year has revealed more about Singapore. But I haven’t written about it yet. Meanwhile, read about my trip there in 2013 through my blog post Singapore Revisited.
Indonesia – Yogyakarta, Lampung, Palembang
My latest trip took me to four cities in Indonesia for almost two weeks — Palembang, Lampung, Yogyakarta and Jakarta. It used to be my home for almost a year and it was great to be back to this country 15 years later. It was quite an adventure, seeing more about Indonesia that I haven’t seen before. Read more about our expedition and the activities we did, as featured in my write-up 12 Days in Indonesia.
Philippines
This is my home, with over 7,000 island-jewels. I always make it a point to visit new places within my country. I’ll be including a surprise travel memento from the Philippines and you might just get a clue by reading some of my posts in this site. There are plenty of articles to check and see which ones interest you the most.

Good you traveled a lot this year. Our common country of visit would be Macau. Yes it does have interesting sights now. And Kerala is the place where I grew up. Loved the souvenirs from there. 🙂
This looks like a fabulous giveaway with awesome goodies!
It seems you have managed to visit quite many countries this year. Good for you and I truly envy you on all of that. I will definitively take entry in the giveaway event. If I could choose which country to visit it would be New Zealand. I have never been to that part of the world so it would be a nice new experience for sure.
Some nice collection of memorabilia you have got there. I will definitively join the giveaway event you are organizing. New Zealand looks cool and it would be my pick for visiting. I have never been in that part of the world anyway so it would be a new experience. I would enjoy that trip no doubts there.
Cool giveaway. I’m pretty sure travelers and backpackers and even different types of people will like this. Will reshare in to a travel page of my friends. Hopefully, they can join.
