When the temperature started rising this part of the globe (the Philippines, that is) by the second quarter of this year, I have frequented the beaches, rivers and natural springs in order to cool off and be refreshed. It began with my Siquijor sojourn during the Holy Week, then a day trip to Balokon Spring Resort at Don Salvador Benedicto, followed by my canyoneering adventures in Badian and whale watching exploits in Oslob (both in Cebu), and lately with a trip to Sipalay City, which is at the southern part of Negros Occidental, for some swimming escapade.

It was no surprise that my face eventually turned red from being overtly exposed to the sun. No amount of sunblock can really keep my skin from being sun-kissed and sunburned with all the activities that I did. Good thing that my friend, Dr. Rhea Lombos-Serondo invited me to try her recently opened Skin Solutions by Serondo Skin and Surgical Clinic.
After assessing my skin and the damages that the sun has brought upon it, Dr. Serondo recommended that I should try the Pure-Biotic. It was a complete treatment method, which incorporates “overall” and “zonal” wherein it addresses oily skin and acne-prone skin.

Pure-Biotic has powerful antibacterial action that allows the skin to naturally produce antibiotics to combat microbial infections. The whole treatment includes cleansing of the skin, purification or detoxification, matifying effect, antibacterial action, deep-cleansing of blackheads, anti-hormonal action, reduction of sebum, and soothing of irritated areas.
First, they applied products for make-up removal and exfoliation. Then they did comedo extraction on my face, which is warm ozone vaporization. After that, they massaged my face which really had a relaxing effect on me. They applied mask on my face, which was so cool and organically fragrant. A gauze was placed on top of the mask and another layer was applied. After a few minutes, my mask was peeled off and I was given the localized treatment and modelling.

Light therapy was then done on my face: the blue light for acne and the red light for anti-aging. Here’s the wonderful thing. Skin Solutions also applied green LED light on my face, which is for skin discoloration, especially with the redness on my skin (plus freckles and all).
The good about Skin Solutions is that it is owned and managed by a certified dermatologist, Dr. Serondo. She has trained her staff well as they were very adept with the methods needed to treat my face. It also has modern tools and equipment for dermatological treatment. The clinic itself is conducive (I almost slept through the whole process) and relaxing.

Skin Solutions also gave me sample products to further help my skin rejuvenate. I went home feeling fresh and relaxed. I need to let my skin catch up some rest before I embark on my next adventure. With all my traveling and frequent exposure to the sun, I can see myself revisiting Skin Solutions in the near future.

* I’m no beauty blogger (I’m more of a travel blogger and a foodie), so I forgot the before and after pics of my face. Lesson learned.
