Byron’s Back Ribs Grille in Homesite

Whenever I mention Homesite to my friends, they often attach Byron’s Back Ribs to it. My sister told me a number of times that a cousin once treated her there. What’s special about the place is that it is just a small rounded corner tucked inside a residential area. Plus, many of my friends, both from Bacolod City and those who visit my hometown, claim that it’s the best-tasting baby back ribs in town.

It wasn’t until I visited Homegrown BCD Café Bob’s Open Grounds (READ: Art & Al Fresco Dining at Homegrown Bacolod) along 21st Lacson Street that I have tasted Byron’s because they have a stall found inside this open-air food lot. Still, I haven’t set foot in their Homesite branch.

The original location is in Homesite, a residential area in Bacolod City.

The stars must have aligned because I was told by my fellow blogger Jojo Vito that one of the owners of Byron’s Back Ribs Grille is inviting four of us for a Sunday lunch in their Homesite location, which is where everything has started. At the same time, I was going to visit a high school friend who lived a stone’s throw away from the restaurant. Sunday morning came and one of my childhood pal who lives in Iloilo City, at the other side of the sea, messaged me that she was arriving in Bacolod and will be returning early in the afternoon. We agreed to meet at my friend’s home, but eventually, we changed plans and decided to meet at Byron’s.

My friend told me that she and her family would always order steak in Byron’s. Since it was always full, they would just order to go and bring the food to their house where they can all share with the entire household.

When I arrived in Byron’s, I joined the blogger’s table for the interview, while my friends took the table next to us. The place is quaint, like a nipa hut built under huge trees. It’s open air but has a roof over it, for a grill feel. What seemed like picnic tables and benches fill most of the space.

As it turns out, Byron is the name of their dad. It’s a family business and it has grown and has plans of expanding. They will be opening a new store in Robinson’s Galleria in Cebu City. Right now, they are open in their main branch from 11:00am to 2:00pm and from 4:30pm to 9:00pm.

Byron’s offer affordable meals and fresh food. Everyday, they order their stocks so that they serve quality food. Their sauce is sweet and yummy and they have come up with their sweet and spicy variant.
